Selena Gomez Has Serious Beach-Babe Hair Now

Florals for spring, beach waves for summer—some things are tales as old as time. But just as Disney songs age like fine wine, only getting better as you nail the lyrics, gestures, and character choices, beachy, tousled waves are at their best right now. Exhibit A: the goddess-esque waves Jenna Dewan Tatum debuted last week. Exhibit B: the long, loose curls Selena Gomez just showed up with, giving us some whiplash from the short cut she made headlines with at the Met Gala.

Admittedly, that was two months ago, but it feels like yesterday. The good news is that her new 'do is just as gorgeous. It features a cascade of warm, reddish-brown length with a cut whipped up by stylist Riawna Capri, extensions by Nikki Lee, and waves by Danielle Priano, all pros from L.A.'s beloved Nine Zero One salon. Given how flawlessly everything works together, it makes total sense that three of the most skilled hairstylists in the game had a hand in her look—we can't stop staring at how they melted Selena's balayage-highlighted extensions in with the color she's been working the past few months.

Sultry AF. While we're seeing every celebrity and their squad go bob-length, Selena's waves are making the unexpected case for long strands for summer (although not Rapunzel-long quite yet).

The look requires more hair on your neck, yes, but also the opportunity to hop onto this effortless-seeming-wave situation, with its long, uncurled ends. Pros and cons, people.

As the abundance of looks Selena's worn since emerging with 100 percent more hair demonstrate—all of a few days later—it's good to have hairstyle options, which is something a little trickier to do when your cut's on the short end.

The feeling of hair blowing in the wind? A hair flip? There's nothing like it.
