Last week, Gwen Stefani rocked our worlds when she shared a makeup-free selfie on Instagram. She looked effortlessly stunning. Her messy hair was perfectly messy. Her expression was equal parts fierce and “I woke up like this.” Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, Stefani shared a behind-the-scenes tidbit that’s making our hearts beat to the sound of the singer’s duet with boyfriend Blake Shelton:

She actually snapped the selfie for Blake.

“I was laying there, I just got in bed and I was like, ‘Maybe I’ll send a picture to Blake,‘” Gwen told People. “You just start fooling around with it. I actually had a new camera on my phone and I just took that picture. I probably took about 10. That one looked cute and I was like, ‘I’ll just post it.'”

We love picturing this scenario in our heads. Gwen’s having a casual day at home. She climbs into bed, is totally feelin’ her natural look, and wants to share this moment with the man who loves her just as she is. So she snaps a few selfies, picks her fave, and sends it off. We like to think that Blake paid Gwen all the compliments when he replied because she looks like a glowing angel.

We love Gwen. We love her makeup-free look. We especially love the love shared between herself and Blake.
