People Keep Confusing Toilet Bowl Cleaner for Bath Bombs, and It's Equal Parts Hilarious and Terrifying

Lush Cosmetics' bath bombs have developed quite a cult following, and it's easy to see why. Simply drop one of these adorable effervescent balls in your bath and watch your tub transform into a bubbling paradise of color and relaxation that's guaranteed to soothe your skin and melt away stress.

Something that definitely won't have those same affects? Clorox's Automatic Toiler Bowl Cleaner. Sadly, that's a lesson that a few unlucky folks have had to learn the hard way.

Of course it's easy to see how one could mix a bath bomb up with toilet cleaner given that they're similarly shaped, colorful, share a chalky texture, and would both likely be stored in a bathroom. Incidents where individuals have made the unfortunate mistake of switching these two drastically different products and suffering the disastrous results have begun to spread online, according to Yahoo.

One especially noteworthy switch was captured by a girl who texted her friends in a panic after she realized the mistake she had made.

Thankfully it appears that besides having your hands stained blue and suffering from some mild burning and irritation, no one has sustained any severe damage from accidentally bathing in Clorox. While mix-ups like this are unfortunate, c'mon, they're also pretty hilarious. We're glad that folks are brave enough to share their mishaps online to serve as a public service announcement for others. So, the next time you want to dip into a relaxing bath check the packaging first and ensure that you're bathing in something that will nourish your skin rather than vigorously clean it like it's a dirty piece of porcelain.

Disclaimer: Chemicals and cleaning agents, like bleach, should never come into direct contact with your skin. This can cause serious harm, irritation, and discomfort. Please seek medical attention if a cleaning product is mistakenly used on.
