People Are Comparing Themselves To Cheesecake To Fight Fat-Shaming
When a guy makes fun of a girl in her prom dress on the Internet, and other women step up to show support, we are all about it. The guy compared a young woman’s look to a strawberry cheesecake, followed by skull emojis that could be interpreted as laughing so hard he died.
While he may have been trying compliment her in some seriously misguided way— after all, who doesn’t love cheesecake? —his comment came across as body shaming, which spurred others on Twitter to come to the girl’s defense by comparing themselves to cheesecake and more joined in. Although the original poster has since tweeted that he meant that @CKerione looked good enough to eat, it’s too late to stop the waves of people sharing photos of themselves with their cheesecake doppelgängers, along with the hastag #compareyourselftoacheesecake2016.
