This Ohio Spa Is Offering Free Laser Tattoo Removal For Customers With Racially-Influenced Ink

Tattoos can be a wonderful way to express yourself—but, if you don’t choose your ink carefully, they can also be something you’ll regret later in life. Tattoo removal, while possible, is really expensive, and often requires several sessions to work. Fortunately for the residents of one Ohio town, a local medi-spa is offering free laser removal of “racially-influenced” tattoos, as a way to help former racists let go of their troubled pasts and start fresh (hopefully, with an open mind).
Skin Deep Medi Spa in Strongesville, OH, is one of a handful of shops in the state that carries the PicoWay laser, a high-tech, fast and relatively painless tattoo removal laser, cleveland.com reports. Usually, tattoo removal costs anywhere from $500 to $6,000, and requires at least two treatments to work. But in the wake of the recent election and increased racial tensions, the shop is running a limited-time promotion, offering free tattoo removal for anyone with a racially-influenced tattoo. Those interested in taking advantage of the offer have to book their removal before the end of the month, but the actual sessions can take place anytime after that.
In a statement, owner Joe Stanoszek explained of the offer: “We have technology that can offer a clean slate, and hopefully a fresh perspective.
