Nina Dobrev’s Updo Is Hairspo for Ladies With Lobs
A lob (longer bob) is the perfect hairstyle for those looking for a cut that’s edgy and different yet simple and elegant. The ever-popular style has its limitations, though. Braids, ponytails, and all of your go-to ways of getting your hair out of your face in less than five minutes can be a bit challenging when you go shorter than shoulder length.
Nina Dobrev is proving that lobs are more versatile than we thought. The 28-year-old Vampire Diaries actress’s hairstyle requires minimal fuss and is easy to execute. Actually, the messier the better with this ’do.
Dobrev’s stylist added volume to her hair with dry texturizing spray and a curling wand, being sure to leave out the ends for a choppier look. With a deep side part, she then created a loose chignon. Pieces of hair that fell out of the bun were twisted from the root to the end and secured around the chignon with bobby pins.
A modern play on an old Hollywood cat eye amplified the look. Using copper shadow, her makeup artist extended the shape of the wing upward in line with Dobrev’s lower lids for a lifting effect. A classic red lip pulled it all together.
