A video of a mother and her young daughter dancing on a stripper pole has people divided over the woman’s parenting style.

On Wednesday the Shade Room posted an Instagram video of a mother named Ezama and her young daughter performing a dance on a stripper pole, in what looks like their home. The pair is giggling while they dance next to and on the pole — and at one point, they do an impressive twirl in unison — to the music of Bob Marley.

They’re clearly having a ball together, but commenters were sharply divided on whether pole dancing was an appropriate activity for the young girl. “Mmmm I can see the art in pole dancing. I wouldn’t do this with my daughter though,” remarked one person.

Another wrote, “Baby on a stripper pole. Not cute at all!”

But one commented on the mom’s strength and the fact they are clearly having fun together: “Looks fun! So cute! I wish I had the core strength to hold up myself let alone another person. She makes it look effortless.”

The video, which has received almost 1.5 million views, is a repost of an earlier version uploaded to Instagram back in October. Back then, Ezama had captioned the footage, “Sometimes the ability to share what personally brings you so much Joy is all the Love some one may need from you to brighten their day! So I share my little piece of #Joy with you all! Hope you all have an Amazing day!”

In 2015 a similar controversy was ignited when a California mother posted a YouTube video of herself pole dancing while wearing her 2-year-old daughter in a wrap and previously, while she was pregnant with the child. The mom was shamed on social media for being a “bad parent,” but she explained in an interview with Yahoo that dancing was a communication tool for expressing love with her daughter.

Ezama, who calls herself a “movement artist” on Instagram, did not return Yahoo Beauty’s call for comment. However, cheers to this adorable bonding moment between a mother and her daughter.
