Subscription beauty boxes are nothing new. There are over a dozen options that bring mini and full sized products to your door every month, but now there is a box that let’s you make your own. LOLI is a new subscription service delivers organic, food-grade ingredients along with book of beauty recipes to your door, so you can create your very own natural beauty products.

With over 20 years experience in the beauty industry working on the marketing side, Tina Hedges started LOLI, which stands for “living organic loving ingredients,” with a simple mission to bring beauty back to where it started. “All beauty started in our kitchen or our garden, or our grandmother’s kitchen and garden,” says Hedges. “All we are doing with the science part is making it over complicated.” It was a trip to Sephora spent looking at argan oils, that inspired Hedges to bring beauty back to the ingredients and the recipes.

Hedges works with a board of advisors that includes an armoatherapist, a psychiatrist, and several healers, to assist in the thoughtful curation of each box. “There’s a reason why the ingredients are together, there is a reason I’ve made the combinations,” she says. “There is a lot of science behind it. And then deciding what is more important for these ingredients, and what makes a difference.”

All of the LOLI ingredients are organic, wild harvested, and food-grade — so you can feel good about mixing them up in your kitchen (or bathroom). Each box includes all the necessary ingredients you need to make 3-4 recipes built around a theme each month (think renewal, rejuvenation, tolerance), and the tools you need to mix everything together. The ingredients come packed in eco-conscious materials and should last you about four to six weeks, depending on how you are using them and what you are creating.

Last month’s box included everything you needed for a good summer scrub and soak: a sugar scrub made with Turbinado dark brown sugar from Paraguay and Taipiplaya coffee from Bolivia, organic coconut oil sourced from the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Indonesia, a power oil blend made up of sunflower, lavender and cinnamon bark oil. There was also an Ayurvedic bath salt soak with Himmalyan salt powder from Pakistan. For the July box, which is available to order now, you’ll be crafting up an exfoliating cleanser, a chamomile makeup remover, and an antioxidant packed cleansing treatment.

Recently, LOLI became the only beauty company that is a member of Made In A Free World, a non-profit organization that promotes positive social and environmental impact by changing the way supply chains work. In the long term, Hedges hopes that the brand will grow to offer specific products made from scratch and to create subscription boxes that are tied to a specific country or ritual. For every box sold, LOLII also donates $1.00 towards supporting the elimination of human trafficking. It’s truly beauty that you can feel good about.

A single LOLI box is $38. A 3-month subscription is $35/box ($105). To order, click here.
