Live In These Cities? You Might Have More Wrinkles

Unfortunately, there’s more to perfect skin than a tireless skincare routine. If it were any other way, we’d all have flawless skin throughout our entire lives. Instead, we tend to blame our genetics and hormones for the blemishes, lines, and dullness we wear on our skin, but a recent study from RoC Skincare reminds us that there are a lot more factors that contribute to our skin’s imperfections, and many of them can be avoided — as long as you’re willing to get out of town.

RoC explored the U.S. metropolitan areas most at risk for skin damage and premature aging by the year 2040, taking a city-by-city approach and considering factors commonly known to affect skin health such as lifestyle, occupational, and environmental influences. So don’t worry, you have some time to get out of town if you live in a high-risk city.

The research predicts that in the year 2040, Philadelphian residents will be the most wrinkle-prone in the U.S, due to high stress levels, airborne pollution, long commute times, and high smoking rates. It predicts that San Jose will be the least wrinkle-prone city in 2040 due to short commute times, small population size, and anticipated shift toward a wetter climate.
