BREAKING: basically out of nowhere, Selena and the Weeknd were spotted K-I-S-S-I-N-G in 46 separate, glorious paparazzi pics (which you can view on TMZ) outside Giorgio Baldi restaurant in Santa Monica.
Selena had reportedly been single for awhile, but the Weeknd had just split from Bella Hadid two months earlier. In the wake of the news, Bella unfollowed Selena on Instagram.
According to E! News, The Weeknd's "always had a thing for Selena." He thinks she is "extremely talented and sexy," E!'s source revealed. "They recently started talking before the holidays but she has been on his radar before ... They are taking things slow and getting to know each other."
Fans started to wonder if the Starboy track "Party Monster" referenced the new romance. When the song first debuted, most people assumed the lyric "Like Selena, a** shaped like Selena" was a tribute to Selena Quintanilla (and fun fact, Gomez is named after her). But not after Gomez and the Weeknd's makeout sesh...

He tagged the Weeknd with a heart and quickly deleted it - but not before a fan got a screenshot (gotta get those receipts, y'all).
Apparently in response, Bella 'grammed a steamy Boomerang in a black one-piece.
Meanwhile, at home, we were all like, yes, we know, you are both hot. Got it.

When Selena was photographed getting out of her car in West Hollywood, eagle-eyed fans noticed that the Weeknd's new album Starboy happened to be playing on her iPhone.
The photo lends evidence to two separate theories:
She really digs the Weeknd (or at least his music).
They're not just making out - they're actually collaborating on music together, too.
After all, dating rumors flew when Sel made music with Charlie Puth and Zedd. So, who knows what's really going on?
Later that night, the paps caught up to her outside the restaurant Terroni in Los Angeles, but she wasn't interested in answering their questions about her relationship with the Weeknd or the fact that Bella recently unfollowed her.

A source at E! News revealed the quickly-evolving state of Abelena's relationship, explaining, "He really likes her. They text every day."
But despite the never-ending texts, they supposedly hadn't put a label on their relationship.
"As of now, they are just having fun and enjoying each other," the source added, noting, "They are taking things slow and getting to know each other."

Even though she didn't make it to the actual show, she at least liked a photo of her bae's performance.
Meanwhile, when a fan asked Justin to name his current fave song, he answered "Starboy" by the Weeknd. He shaded the R&B star so hard by delivering the line seriously, then cracking up hysterically, making it clear that he was being sarcastic.

Selena and The Weeknd spent a super casual day together in L.A.. They saw the movie "Get Out" and grabbed some dinner after the flick. But what's really going to make you go awwwwww is the way Sel and Star-boo sit in the car while traveling.
Selena shared a pic sitting in the back seat with her legs resting on The Weeknd's lap, his arm resting gently on her legs. It's literally the cutest thing you'll see for the rest of eternity.
