These Lipsticks Have a Genius Hidden Compartment

How many times have you been shopping for makeup at the drugstore and been forced to pick your perfect shade of lipstick in good faith because there are no samples? And raise your hand if you’re guilty of tearing the plastic seal to try before you buy right there in the store, and then feel very guilty about it later. 🙋

The plain fact is finding makeup that fits your skin tone is hard and basically impossible without literally putting it on and seeing if it works. Luckily, E.L.F. Cosmetics knows this to be true, so they came up with a genius idea when creating the lipstick packaging for the moisturizing lipsticks.

Prepare to be mind-blown: Each case is made with a small, pot-like compartment on the bottom that holds a tiny bit of the product that you can use as a tester when picking your perfect shade.

"We designed our moisturizing lipsticks to hold the lipstick formula in the base of the componentry," E.L.F. creative director Achelle Richards told Refinery29. "This feature makes it easier to color match, and we love that it’s been a surprise and delight for many of our fans."

Not only do you no longer have to contaminate all the lipsticks at the store until you find The One, but you also get to try out the whole lot if you want to. It’s really a win-win, and honestly, every lipstick/makeup item should come with a feature like this!
