Kylie Jenner Reveals the Real Reason She Got Lip Injections: ‘No One Wanted to Kiss Me’

Kylie Jenner’s lips have been a hot topic for years. “Are they real?” we debated at first, followed by the dangers of the #kyliejennerchallenge, and then her confession that the she in fact had injections.

And while she did share that she was insecure about her lips, she never went into much detail — until now. Jenner, 19, opened up to Complex about the real reason behind her artificially plumped pout: and it’s about boys.

“This guy I kissed was like, ‘Your lips are really small but you’re a really good kisser. I didn’t think you were gonna be good at kissing,’” she tells Complex about the reason she started to feel insecure about her lips. “It was so rude. From then on, I just felt like I saw guys staring at my lips. I felt like no one wanted to kiss me.”

Which is why, eventually, she secretly got injections, a decision that wasn’t easy for her to overcome — and one that she wishes she had been honest about in the first place.

“I wasn’t even 17 yet,” she says. “What if I came out and said, ‘Oh, yeah, I got my lips done’? What are all those moms going to think about me? These kids, my fans, they’re going to think I’m crazy. I didn’t want to be a bad influence.”

But once she started, she wanted to make them bigger and bigger, resulting in “very painful” fall out from the media. Jenner adds, “It’s annoying to hear every day that you’re just this fake, plastic person when you’re not. Every single day there was a news story about me.”

And judging by one of her latest shades, Love Bite, it’s safe to say that she’s long overcome those kissing insecurities. Why? Her fans have just revealed that the purple-red hue is the exact color of  — you guessed it — an actual “love bite.”

And for this reason, Jenner will continue to create shades that her fans flip out over, in turn making her dreams a reality.

“I want to be as big as the other [cosmetic] brands,” she tells Complex. “It’s my dream to be on Forbes.”

And we have a feeling she’ll definitely follow in sister Kim’s Forbes footsteps.
