There's edible skin care (think: delicious DIY masks and scrubs), and then there's skin care made with edible-until-formulated ingredients, like the Korres Greek Yoghurt Smoothie Priming Moisturizer, which, you guessed it, is actually blended with everyone's favorite grab-and-go breakfast of choice: Greek yogurt. (Mmmm, where's the granola when you need it?)

But before we dive into breakfast (see what I did there?), let's back up for a second. Korres, the Greek-born beauty brand, isn't just bringing Greek yogurt—26 percent Greek yogurt proteins, to be exact—into its new Greek Yoghurt Smoothie Priming Moisturizer. The skin-care brand has an entire line based on the protein-packed stuff found in the dairy aisle, including the uber-nourishing Greek Yoghurt Moisturizing Face Cream and the soothing Greek Yoghurt Cleansing & Make-Up Removing Wipes. But what makes the line so stand-out—aside from the fact that it's made with ingredients you can trust (and taste!)—is that the brand used in the line is probably lurking on top shelf of your refrigerator right now. "We are using FAGE Yogurt—FAGE is a Greek yogurt synonym over here— which is also sourcing the milk needed for its yogurt production nationwide," Korres founder Lena Korres tells Allure.

But that doesn't mean incorporating real yogurt was necessarily easy, Korres admits. "The formulation of the Greek Yoghurt line turned out to be a great challenge for the Korres lab," she says. "Its development took over three years and it still remains a global-first, as this was the first time edible yoghurt was incorporated into a cosmetic formula."

Aside from the legit yogurt inside the pump, the Greek Yoghurt Smoothie Priming Moisturizer is also made of hydrating heavy-hitter hyaluronic acid—three types, to be exact—to moisturize and plump skin before you even apply your makeup. But really, we think the trio of moisturizing ingredients is to help protect our mugs after being wind-whipped in this winter weather. To prove it, I gave the lightweight primer a try before one of the coldest days of the year. (Because you can always use extra moisture, duh.) The result? A smooth, supple finish after the creamy formula quickly seeped into my skin and offered immediate hydration (and it's a primer, people!). I almost didn't need to follow up with my regular moisturizer. I said almost. And in case you're wondering, no, it didn't smell like Greek yogurt. And no, I didn't taste it. (And you shouldn't either!)

The Korres Greek Yoghurt Smoothie Priming Moisturizer is available at sephora.com (and sadly, no, not at the grocery store) for $42.
