Kim Kardashian Wore a Headband Made of Bobby Pins

A lot of us have bobby pins stashed away by the handful around the house (or, you know, in the bottoms of our purses) to tuck up stray wisps of hair. But as we’ve seen time and time again, with a little ingenuity, you can use them far beyond their more utilitarian purposes. The latest example? Stylist Chris Appleton stacked a row of pins along the sides of Kim Kardashian’s head to fashion a headband of sorts.

Kim's gone the hairband route more than a few times: Retailers scrambled to replicate her $2.5-million, 65-carat diamond wedding headband from her first nuptials with Kris Humphries in 2011. And who could forget her tiny pink headband from the same year?

This style is great for pretty much any occasion: it's cool enough for a night out and pretty enough for a date—and it would probably even work for spin class when you can't find your favorite headband.

To get the look, Appleton slicked back Kim's hair into a low bun at the nape of her neck. Next, he placed what look like extra-long bobby pins from her part down around her hairline (similar to a doobie), making a headband shape that helps keep hair tightly in place.

Pretty, right? We're off to track down all of our stray bobby pins right now.
