There are countless brands of power bars out there masquerading as a health food when in facto they are not. The are full of hidden sugars, refined starches and preservatives. Try out this super simple recipe to make your own version.
Oats can help stabilize blood sugar promoting weightloss. Ahh almond butter is rich in vitamin E which promotes glowing skin.  This a great snack to take on the go.

Power Bars
Yield: 16 Bars
1/2C almond butter
1/2C honey
1C rolled oats – toasted
1C puffed brown rice cereal
1/2C almonds – toasted and chopped
1/3C dried cranberries, chopped
pinch sea salt
Grease an 8inch square pan with a little oil and line with parchment paper.
In a small sauce pan, heat the honey and almond butter for three minutes or until thoroughly melted. In a medium bowl combine oats, cereal, almonds, dried cranberries and sea salt.
Pour the honey mixture into the dry mixture and stir until well combine.
Place into pan.
Using wet hand press the cereal bar mixture down until it is flat and even. Let set in fridge for at least one hour.
Remove from pan and cut into 2x1 inch bars.
Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
