How to Get Montana Cox’s Cool-Girl Curls
Montana Cox is Australia’s “it” girl, and she’s taking the loose-curls trend of the season beyond Down Under. The 23-year-old model sported a hairstyle we’ve seen on countless runways and given it her own unique edge.
Model Mica Aragañaraz popularized the shaggy haircut with curly bangs, appearing on every runway from Chanel and Louis Vuitton to Saint Laurent and Valentino, and her modeling counterparts are following suit.

To get the look, ask your stylist for a rounded fringe with a soft edge. The shorter lengths in the center will help you push hair to the outside of your face and prevent excess bulk. Part your hair near the center, working with your natural growth patterns for easy styling. Finish with a spritz of sea salt spray, such as Bumble and Bumble’s Surf Spray, and rough-dry with a wide-tooth comb to allow movement while controlling the finish.
Curl a few individual pieces of hair with a wand, wrapping one-inch sections around the wand from roots to ends. Comb through the curls with your fingers and finish with a moisture-rich texturizing spray, such as Oribe’s Après Beach Wave and Shine Spray.
Cox kept her skin bright to draw light to her face and eyes from under her bangs. To finish, she swiped on a satin cherry lip that matched her dress, mixing classic beauty with classic rock.
