How to Create a Super Smoky Eye
The easiest way to create a dramatic beauty look is with your eye makeup. While a smoky eye looks intimidating, it doesn’t have to be. I created this look with only one eye shadow. Here’s how:
Sweep a light base color all over the lid with a fluffy eye shadow brush.
Choose your favorite matte dark color — navy, plum, or charcoal gray are good choices.
With an eye shadow brush, apply the color from the top lash line into the crease across the lid. Build the color so that it’s uniform and rich.
Do a very light application of the color so that it creates a soft wing extending just beyond the lid.
To give the look more depth, apply black liner all the way across the top lid.
Finish with three coats of your favorite lengthening mascara.
Because the eye look is intense, it works best when paired with fresh, simple makeup like a tinted moisturizer, a hint of blush, and pretty, but soft, lip color.
