Hollywood’s Prettiest Beauty Secret: The Streicher Sisters
Introducing the Streicher sisters, Ashley, Jenn, and Kristie, a trio of highly sought-after red carpet hair, makeup, and brow artists, respectively. For their inaugural column the sisters share with VIOLET GREY their very favorite beach beauty secrets.
Growing up in Northern California the banks of the Yuba River and Tahoe’s lakeside were our “beaches”. Wearing swimming suits and hiking shoes seemed completely normal and it was our haven. When we were a bit older, Zuma Beach in Malibu became one of our go-to spots particularly for the sand, surf, and boys. As adults, some of our more favorite seaside locales include Hvar Island in Croatia, Tulum in Mexico, Padang Padang in Indonesia, and the rocky shore of the Hotel Du Cap-Eden-Roc in the French Riviera. We swam, snorkeled, and Frissbee’d. We wore the teeniest bikinis and went topless wherever it was allowed (which was never nearly enough).
To us, “beach beauty” translates into being free from all of our daily beauty regimens. We will forgo our foundations, lipsticks, and coiffed hair. Textured, messy hair with perhaps a braid or two, SPF, and a pot of lip balm are all we really need. Regardless of where we might be in the world, there are a few things that we consider to be Streicher staples, from our favorite cover-ups to pre-beach beauty rituals (Ashley mixes her own hair concoction), and we are excited to share these secrets with you in our first column.

ASHLEY SAYS: To keep my hair soft and manageable, I’ll mix this tonic at home and spray it in my hair all day long at the beach:
1 Empty spray bottle
1 Tbsp of water-based pomade (Hanz de Fuko )
1 Tbsp of Pequi Oil Treatment or coconut oil
1-2 Pumps of aloe vera
2 Tbsp of hot water
Shake all ingredients up in the spray bottle. If using at home add sea salt to get a beach hair look!
