Hold Up: Kim Kardashian Just Got Lasered on a Plane

Kim Kardashian has been pretty low-key since her Paris robbery. But she’s been making a gradual comeback lately, slipping into her regularly scheduled “classic Kim K” program. During her Wednesday plane ride over to Dubai for her first public appearance after a long social hiatus, for example, she revealed that the secret behind her aesthetically pleasing looks has less to do with “good genes” than with her go-to laser specialist.

“Most people just think I have good genes,” she said in a Snapchat the day of her trip, “so I want to introduce you guys to my good genes who I travel with to Dubai, Dr. Ourian.”

She followed it with another snap: “See, I got my laser goggles. All you need laser goggles so when you do, like, a laser treatment. These are perfect for plane laser.”

Kardashian has “no shame” in her game, and is being upfront about how her good looks may be more than just her makeup artists’ magical contouring skills.

But what, exactly, is could the wife to Kanye West be having done at 39,000 feet in the air and is she wearing those futuristic looking shades?

We reached out to the man with all the answers, Simon Ourian, MD. Based in Beverly Hills, the cosmetic dermatologist specializes in aesthetic surgery and often works with the Kardashian-Jenner clan, making appearances on Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

But until Ourian spills beans, it’s anyone’s guess. Perhaps Kardashian was getting another skin-tightening treatment? In August 2015, she Snapchatted a visit to Ourian’s Epione Beverly Hills Center, where the doctor later Instagrammed a photo using the hashtags “#nonsurgical” and “#tummytuck.”

Maybe she is mirroring a not-so-casual treatment sister Khloé had done to tighten her tush called OptiLipo and LipoFreeze, in which Ourian uses ultrasound and a nonsurgical fat-removal procedure to help the body eliminate fat naturally in two to eight weeks.

Lasers, according to Jessie Cheung, a board-certified dermatologist and director of the Jessie Cheung MD Dermatology & Laser Center in Illinois, have “moved beyond removing hair and birthmarks.” As she explains to Yahoo Beauty, “There are lasers that will treat wrinkles and rejuvenate the skin with minimal downtime. Lasers will stimulate collagen, erase etched in lines and wrinkles, remove broken blood vessels and sunspots, and melt fat and tighten skin.”

Cheung adds, “Lasers are always going to be more effective than a topical. Lasers use heat energy, which stimulate collagen and target broken vessels and sun spots.”

And as for Kardashian’s goggles, she explains, “Lasers have certain targets, which include the red blood vessels in our eyes and the water in our corneas. Glasses are necessary to protect our eyes from the laser beam.”

Whatever the treatment was, we’re certain of one thing: She’ll be in tip-top shape at the trusted hands of her go-to laser treatment hero for her appearance in Dubai.
