Health Vlogger Has Terrifying Reaction to Henna Hair Dye

This is seriously so scary.

Every girl loves a trip to the salon, but sadly, a new dye job can have serious side effects. Health and fitness vlogger, Chemese Armstrong, recently found that out the hard way. After finding out that she is allergic to a component in traditional hair dye, called Paraphenylenediamine (or PPD), she decided to try out a more natural dying solution.

Her dermatologist recommended trying henna hair dye, a plant-based, chemical-free dying solution, but Chemese's reaction to the henna dye was worse than the reaction she had to PPD. Her entire face swelled up so much that she couldn't see out of either eye and her scalp burned and itched.

Chemese had a similar reaction to a Reddit user, who suffered from the same reaction caused by hair dye, though the girl didn't say whether or not she used henna dye.

After multiple trips to the ER Chemese's swelling eventually went down, but it took her over a week to recover fully. She posted a video on her YouTube channel, sharing the "traumatic" experience and warning others to be careful when trying a new product.
