There’s been nothing cute about the election season thus far, but fortunately today provides a moment to enjoy something sweet: Bill and Hillary Clinton’s 41st wedding anniversary.
Today, on Bill and Hillary Clinton’s 41st wedding anniversary, the former president took to Twitter to send a sweet message to his wife: “41 years ago I married my best friend and the finest changemaker I’ve ever known. And yes, I’m still in awe of her!” His sentiment mirrors those he professed at the Democratic National Convention back in July, as he described the first time he met the woman who would become the 2016 Democratic presidential candidate. “She had thick blonde hair, big glasses, wore no makeup, and she had a sense of strength and self-possession that I found magnetic,” Clinton reminisced. Fast forward from that moment they met while attending law school at Yale, to their wedding in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on this day back in 1975.
Bill and Hillary Clinton’s romance has certainly gone through its fair share of tumultuous times, but in the end they still remain one of history’s most charming, most endearing First Couples.
