Gwyneth Paltrow Admits She Sometimes Doesn't Know 'What the F— We Talk About' on Goop

Gwyneth Paltrow admits she’s baffled by her own website at times.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday, the actress and creator of Goop was asked about “earthing,” the practice of walking barefoot to reconnect with the planet — and a topic recently featured on the lifestyle site.

“So one of the things we like to do on Goop is find what the alternative world says about feeling good in the modern-day world,” Paltrow began to explain. “So, earthing — I don’t actually know that much about earthing, and it came out of me not knowing anything about earthing but hearing about it. They say that we lost touch with sort of being barefoot in the earth, and there’s some sort of electromagnetic thing that we’re missing. It’s good to take your shoes off and walk in the grass.”

As Kimmel let out a laugh, the Oscar winner revealed, “I don’t know what the f— we talk about!”

Kimmel then asked about the Jade Egg, a $66 item for sale on Goop.

“The Jade Egg is an ancient Chinese practice where women insert the Jade Egg in their lady parts to help tone the pelvic floor,” Paltrow said, admitting she’s never tried it personally.

“Women have actually had incredible results. It acts as a small weight, so I suppose it tones the pelvic floor,” she said, noting that it’s a big seller. “There are women who are really good at practicing this, and they say it’s good for balancing hormones and all kinds of amazing benefits.”

The late-night host quickly added, “And the best part about this is up in the corner, it says, ‘This item is non-returnable.’ ”

Paltrow, 44, has poked fun before at the unusual methods and products for wellness on her website. The actress-turned-entrepreneur even created a video teasing what’s to come at her upcoming In Goop Health wellness summit on June 10.

“You’re probably thinking this is one of those crazy upscale events where we drink kale smoothies and get stung by bees on purpose. And you’re right, it is,” she says in the video on Omaze. “But it’s so much more than that … a wellness summit to end all wellness summits if you will.”

Paltrow goes on to explain what kind of over-the-top activities will be offered at the event.

“Take grounding, for example, aka getting in touch with the earth by making direct contact with the ground,” she says. “Again, I know what you’re saying: ‘Gwyneth, couldn’t I just roll around in my own yard like a dog who’s confused about wearing a sweater?’ Sure! You could also roll around in this … You guessed it, 100 percent organic turf collected by hand from the base of Mount Vesuvius. They say it’s the same stuff used to landscape heaven, but at $11,000 a square foot, I doubt it.”
