Girl Claims A Salon Relaxed Her Natural Hair Without Telling Her
Anyone who has colored, relaxed, or bleached their hair understands how difficult it is to get it back to its natural state. It takes years to grow out your hair and one girl just had that entire process undone in a single trip to the salon.
According to a Facebook post, the girl went to a salon for a routine blowout and ended up with chemically relaxed hair. She had been natural for three years, so when she got home and her hair wouldn't curl, she knew something was wrong. She called the salon and they reportedly told her that they always mix small amounts of relaxers into their shampoo, even though they did not get her permission to do so.
Commenters voiced their anger at the situation.
However, some said this is a common and known practice at some salons.
The salon in question, however, released a statement saying that they do not use relaxers without the client's permission.
It's unclear what actually happened here, but either way: be extra vocal about your hair preferences anytime you're at a new salon.
