Gigi Hadid Looks Like a Modern Venus on the Cover of ‘Allure’

Gigi Hadid is the model of the moment and one of the most beautiful women in the industry. So, it’s no surprise that Allure featured Hadid looking like a modern Venus, the goddess of love and beauty, in their December issue.

On the cover, Gigi wears electric blue eye shadow, vermillion lip color, and natural skin to let her freckles show through. Her strawberry blonde hair is in loose, goddess-like curls that fall into a center part. Even her draped dress gives us major Venus vibes. If Baz Luhrman were to redo Boticelli’s Birth of Venus, this would be it.

She was a model as a child, and always knew she was good at it. “I was obsessed with photographers and where models were supposed to fit in,” she told Allure.

“Obviously, I’m not taking iconic pictures as a six-year-old, but I studied models as part of an image, not just a model, if that makes sense.” Sounds like this modern Venus has taken up modeling as an art form. “I guess I saw what a lot of people don’t see in models, which is that it’s hard work and you’re not just another object in the photo.”
