Gigi Hadid Dyes Her Hair to Match Her Dress for the Met Gala

At this year’s 2017 Met Gala, Gigi Hadid wore caramel from head to toe—literally. The model dyed her signature waist-length blonde hair a shade of soft brown to match her asymmetrical Tommy Hilfiger nude dress. While it’s not the first time Hadid has gone to the dark side, stepping out earlier this year with a warm brunette, the cool new incarnation of the shade took monochromatic dressing to the next level.
With a haphazard section hanging down from her messy bun and partially obscuring her right eye, Hadid’s hair felt artfully disheveled. Elsewhere, the only pop of color was black as seen on her cat-eyed lids, which echoed her sleek stilettos and thigh high stockings. At any other party, all beige may have blended in with the wallpaper. But on Comme des Garçons designer Rei Kawakubo’s night, where some celebrities donned wax wigs atop their heads, eye-catching jewelry in their hair and completely transparent shock-value dresses? All beige is pure punk.
