Fresh Career, Fresh Makeup: Nina Dobrev Covers SELF

Nina Dobrev is leaving CW’s hit show The Vampire Diaries after six years, and she’s making a bold statement about her next steps on the June 2015 cover of SELF, published online today. She’s in no-makeup makeup, donning a simple braided ‘do, and glowing as bright as the sportswear she’s photographed in.
“I’ve loved working on this show,” Dobrev tells SELF regarding her departure. “It’s been such a crazy, awesome adventure, and I’ve been surrounded by so many people who I consider family. I know this is a new exciting step in the right direction for me, but it’s going to be so strange not to be with them.”

On filming her last scenes in The Vampire Diaries, she tells SELF: “It’s important for me that it be epic and powerful. I feel like I’m a completely different person than I was and I’ve grown so much. It’s been a big part of my life, and I want it to be beautiful. I want it to end well.”

Dobrev is well known for her mesmerizing eyes and shiny brunette hair, but just in time for the summer, we’re inspired by her to not only get fit, but also take risks.
