Francia Raisa shows off surgical scars in intense gym video
A week after it was revealed she had donated a kidney to best friend Selena Gomez, actress Francia Raisa is getting back to her fit and healthy self.
Taking to Instagram, the 29-year-old shared a video of herself at the gym, along with the caption, “Happy to be back.”
The brief clip shows The Secret Life of the American Teenager star wearing a gray sports bra and matching leggings, as she lifts weights. With her midriff exposed, her small surgical scars are visible.

Fans showered Raisa with support in the comments. “You are amazing! You’re an inspiration!” one fan wrote. Meanwhile, another shared: “Amazing!! Unbelievable sacrifice for a friend and back at it already. You are a true inspiration.”
Last week, Gomez shared the news that she had secretly undergone a kidney transplant this past summer to help her fight her battle against lupus. In her Instagram post, she also paid tribute to her Raisa, writing, “There aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend.” The 25-year-old continued, “She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis.”
Francia also wrote on social media that she was “beyond grateful that God would trust me with something that not only saved a life, but changed mine in the process… Love you sis, so glad we’re on this journey together.”
Gomez and Raisa’s friendship started 14 years ago. Francia has said that they met while doing charity work at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
