I Flew to London to Investigate Whether Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Is Actually Human

From ELLE

Last week, when I posted a selfie with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, I got a lot of reactions.

"Dying!!! she is my celeb lady crush," "SHUT UP. I'm so incredibly jealous. She is my reason for life," and "Oh my god!!!!!! She is my favorite person, if I could look like anyone in the world it would be her!! Tell me all???" were only some of the responses I received on Instagram and over text. But there was one reaction that was particularly spot on: "Also @sallyholmes tbh this is a missed opportunity for faceswap," commented my friend (and former ELLE.com editor) @danielleprescod.

Which, true. Because if there was one person in the world I'd like to swap faces with, it would be Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

Rosie is gorgeous―like inhuman-levels of gorgeous. Seriously, "Is Rosie Huntington-Whiteley even human?" is a question we've posed on this site before. And it's a question I was able to revisit when I met her in person last week to celebrate her new job as UGG's global women's brand ambassador.

Determined to find out just how perfect the perfect Rosie Huntington-Whiteley actually is, I asked the model some questions about how she is in the wild, when no one's watching. Because Couch Sally―who wears leggings and a sweatshirt down to her knees while eating peanut butter out of the jar with a spoon―is unpolished and imperfect. The True Sally. So, what does Couch Rosie look like?

Her Ultimate Comfy Outfit:

It depends where you are, I suppose, but...I love leather pants. I also love denim. I live in jeans. So it would be something like a pair of leather pants from Paige denim or denim jeans and then a pair of UGG boots. I'm absolutely obsessed with the slim cut boot at the moment, which is a new style for them with the slight wedge. It's just slimmer all the way around. It's a little more feminine. And then on top― today I've got a nice silk blouse on or, you know, a really beautiful cashmere knit, kind of something that's sloppy and off the shoulder. And then in L.A. recently, I just got the new Rella boot for spring, which we were also shooting yesterday and I love this because the shearling's not as thick inside so it's a little bit cooler to wear for spring. And the color is so beautiful for spring. And so I was wearing this at the weekend in Malibu and just hanging out with some denim cutoffs on and a T-shirt and a cozy knit on top and it just looked cool.

Her "No One Can See Me, Just Watching TV on the Couch" Outfit:

I have a few pairs of UGGs I wear at home. I have the moccasins style. They're so cute and they've got laces up them and they've got like a sole. I don't think you could really wear them out out but you can wear them in the garden and things. So I wear those a lot at home. And then I have the slippers as well, which are just heaven. Every night I leave them by my bed and then every morning I get out of bed and they're the first things I put on. And at home I believe you can still be put together and be really comfortable, so at home I wear―I actually wear a lot of my own loungewear and sleepwear Rosie for Autograph, which is just really beautiful cashmere pieces and cashmere pants and cotton kind of like sweatpants. But like just cool lounge…like harem pants and beautiful soft T-shirts. I'm a big fan of James Perse and brands like that to wear at home and just, you know, be chic and comfortable and relaxed.

Her "Watching TV on the Couch" Snack:

So recently I've been making these things and they are unreal, okay, they are so good. You take a banana, you smash it in a bowl, then you have one cup of almond flour, one cup of water, you mix it all together and it goes into like a pancake consistency. In the frying pan you put coconut oil then you do dollops like a pancake and then you have the most amazing sugar-free―you have sugar in the banana, but it's natural sugar―I'm telling you, you're going to die. It's the best, best snack to have at home. Like a dessert kind of and it takes five minutes to make. So I usually like to make some of those and then have a little bit of raspberries or some strawberries with it. That's kind of like my little treat at home in the evenings. Or have something like guacamole and Terra chips.

Her TV Obsessions:

It's my heaven to be at home, chilling out, watching TV. I was obsessed with The Bachelor this season, I cannot wait for JoJo to do The Bachelorette, I am so excited…. [Ed note: Um, at this point I literally stood up and word vomited about my undying love for The Bachelor so, yeah.] If you follow me on Snapchat, you'll realize how much I love The Bachelor because I just literally am snapping the whole way through the episode. Dancing With the Stars is back on, big big fan of that show. I've been watching The People vs. OJ, which I'm obsessed with. I also love Making a Murderer recently, The Jinx, Dateline. I'm obsessed with anything kind of to do with dark things….

Her 2-Minute Makeup Pick-Me-Up:

I would do a little bit of my magic concealer from my line. And I'd also do my Amazing Radiance Cream, which is kind of just this all-in-one beautiful cream to kind of just lift your skin and has a real glowy, iridescent texture to it, it's just gorgeous. And then I would just touch up where I need it, all my imperfections and underneath my eyes with my Miracle Concealer and then maybe I'd do a little contour stick and then a little bit of blush on my cheeks, that's it. Comb my lashes and go.

So, the verdict? Perfect. And still my #1 face swap pick for life. Which is why when RHW agreed to swap her upper echelon human face with my regular human face it made me the happiest...even though this was the result:

As for who Rosie's dream face swap would be? "It would have to be somebody really, really beautiful, like Elizabeth Taylor...I would like to look like her for one picture."
