Throughout her record-setting three decade career with the New York City Ballet, Wendy Whelan has helped shape contemporary ballet as we know it. Now, as she prepares to leave due to arthritis, she faces the difficult question of “what’s next?” in her career, as the dance that she has devoted herself to comes to an end.

"Aging gracefully means being flexible, being open, allowing change, enjoying change and loving yourself," the ballerina told BAZAAR.
