Fashion Week Trend: The Deep Side Part

Deep side parts at Rachel Zoe, Sportmax and Dries Van Noten for fall 2015 (Imaxtree).

From Rachel Zoe in New York to Sportmax in Milan, and Dries Van Noten in Paris, deep side parts on the runway are giving me serious hair envy. As a girl who’s gone from middle part to side part and back again over the last few years, I’ve finally settled on a middle part thanks to a slightly unfortunate event called: “that time I got straight across bangs.” Though I’m nowhere near ready to fully commit to a new part, this cool take on the side part, has me craving the occasional deep side sweep.

It turns out, switching up your part doesn’t require a new ‘do or a professional on speed dial, all you really need is water. “The only way to really loose a harsh part is by wetting the part down completely to make it neutral,” says hairstylist Harry Josh, who created the look at the Rachel Zoe presentation. “When you create a new part, wet it down again to set the new part and then blow dry.” A side part two days a week? Yes, please.
