Exclusive: Lady Gaga, Gigi Hadid, and Kylie Jenner in CR Fashion Book
In the newest issue of CR Fashion Book, makeup artist and contributing beauty editor Tom Pecheux explores the issue theme of "jolie laide" (a phrase that translates to pretty ugly) by challenging the textbook definition of beauty. In 'Belles' Pecheux talks about what he loves about 10 women—and one famous alien—who all radiate individuality. The black and white images show some of the most popular celebrities and models in a more honest and raw way than we're used to seeing them.
For Pecheux, doing makeup isn't about hiding the canvas. "I'm never doing makeup to make women look beautiful," he says in the issue. "I do it to make them feel beautiful."
