Erasable Permanent Tattoos Might Be a Thing Soon
There’s always one worry that keeps you from getting that tattoo you’ve always wanted: What if I end up hating it? It’ll be stuck on me forever. Sure, these days we have laser removal if you really, really end up hating a tattoo, but the removal process is painful, expensive, and tedious.
But that one last hurdle of doubt standing between you and your dream ink may soon be a worry of the past, because it’s 2016 now and erasable tattoos might be a thing soon.
No, we’re not talking those faux tattoos you get at carnivals that last four or five days if you’re really careful in the shower. We’re talking permanent tattoos that can be erased whenever you want - whether that’s a month, a year, or a decade later.
A team of chemical engineers from NYU have joined forces to develop a new kind of ink they’ve called “Ephemeral”. The ink is initially permanent, but they’ve also developed a complementary removal solution that safely and easily removes the tattoo whenever you want. Both the application and removal can be done by normal tattoo artists using their existing equipment.
The ink is still being developed, but it’s guaranteed to change the tattoo game. Depending on the cost, no one will ever be afraid to get their SO’s name tattooed on their wrist ever again.
