Curvy Model Barbie Ferreira Slams Critics Of Her Aerie Campaign

"People are so used to photoshop, they think it's real life."

From Seventeen

When curve model Barbie Ferreira's Aerie campaign video came out last week, fans were quick to praise the brand for featuring a model that looks different from what we're used to seeing in swimwear ads. Barbie is gorge, but has curves and that's rare to see outside of plus-size campaigns. (The model herself is what she calls "in-between," meaning she's too curvy for straight-size modeling and too small for plus.) Well, it looks like some terrible people weren't fans of Barbie's swim campaign and they took to Twitter and Instagram to rudely complain about it - but she's NOT here for it.

Some of the rude comments Barbie got include: "you promote obesity," "that bathing suit isn't flattering at all," and "there's a difference between being curvy and healthy and just being fat." In response, Barbie took to Twitter to express her frustrations with a society that is used to seeing super-skinny models.

Barbie then went on to retweet some fans of her campaign, including girls who felt inspired by her body positivity.

We bet comments like this makes it all totally worth it. Plus, Barbie is working nonstop so she'll be laughing all the way to the bank.
