This Curling Iron Costs $6,000
We'll spend more money than we care to admit when it comes to perfecting our hair. We jumped at the chance to try Dyson's $400 blowdryer, and let's not even discuss how much regular trims, colors, and cuts cost. But would you ever spend a whopping $6,000 on a curling wand? What if we told you it was covered in Swarovski crystals-but still didn't come with it's own hairstyling butler?
The new limited edition Beachwaver Pro 1.25 curling iron is fully adorned with hundreds (thousands?) of tiny Swaorvski crystals, and all that glitz comes with one hefty price tag. It's the perfect luxury gift for someone that had to have their Sidekick blinged-out in the year 2003, obsessive magpies, or various members of international royal families. Like it's less sparkly counterparts, the Swarovski crystal Beachwaver still rotates and curls hair easily, but it does so with a little more pizzazz. It's basically the hair tools version of the Victoria's Secret fantasy bra, which makes sense considering Sarah Potempa, Beachwaver's founder, uses her tools backstage at the show. Is it absolutely ridiculous? Yes. But there's something to love about an item of such pure, unadulterated excess. It reminds us just how fun being a woman can really be.
If you're still reeling from sticker shock, the original version of the Beachwaver Pro only clocks in at $199-reasonable by comparison. But hairstylist Sarah Potempa, the brand's founder, knows we all love something a little sparkly. So she also created another version of the iron that has crystals running along the perimeter only; it's priced at $250, just reasonable enough to land on holiday wish lists everywhere.
