Christmas Tree Hair: The Holiday Trend We Never Knew We Needed

In the midst of wrapping gifts, attending holiday parties, and sipping on Grandma’s sweet eggnog, having hair almost as high as your living room’s Christmas tree has taken “holiday hair goals” to new heights.

In addition to ugly sweaters and loads of glitter makeup, Christmas tree hair is one more not so low-key trend that can be added to the roster. The look does require way more work than simply adding a festive gold hairpin to your ponytail, but slightly less than planning an annual holiday soirée.

If you really want to go there, be sure to have plenty of extra-hold hairspray handy to keep the style sky-high. Create the look by placing a lightweight triangular object (an empty water bottle works) in the center of your head and wrap hair around to conceal. Secure ends with a hair tie. Next, grab all your favorite Christmas ornaments such as metallic balls, star toppers, bright lights (disclaimer: proceed with caution and opt for battery-operated ones to avoid setting your strands on fire), fun metallic rope, or even candy canes to decorate. You can really pull it all together by dying your hair bright forest green. Why not, right?

It seems weird, but we can’t deny the die-hard dedication here. Scroll along for more Christmas tree hair inspiration that’s literally stealing the scene this season.
