Chrissy Teigen Shares Her Stretch Marks on Snapchat
If there’s one star we can confidently say is unafraid of being unapologetically real, it’s Chrissy Teigen. On her social media accounts, she offers access to her personal life, including adorable photos of her daughter, Luna, and equally cute husband, John Legend. In addition to posts on family fun and cooking videos, the Sports Illustrated model also offers candid commentary on her own body image issues and imperfections.
Her latest example of exposing her real side is an up-close and personal Snapchat of her thighs, showing off dimples along her skin.
The snap, captioned “lol my thighs have tributaries,” isn’t the first time Teigen has been supertransparent about her body. Last April, the 30-year-old posted an Instagram of herself sitting cross-legged, with stretch marks on her inner thighs again, writing “bruises from bumping kitchen drawer handles for a week. Stretchies say hi.”
For many fans, Teigen’s ability to joke about physical imperfections is what makes her so likable and relatable. And luckily, her light-hearted attitude has continued since she gave birth four months ago, morphing Teigen into a body confidence advocate for women who’ve recently become parents and are feeling the pressure to bounce back to their prebaby figures.
“You just realize you have to give yourself time and understand that you push out a baby, and it took this long to put on the weight, and it’s not going to peel right off, and that’s OK,” she explained in an interview with E! News, referring to the unavoidable pressure women feel to lose weight.
Considering how she’s made a career out of appearing in glossies notorious for Photoshopping and image retouching, we can’t help but love Chrissy for her honest approach to proving that even models have flaws. Her latest snap is just another reminder that what you see in advertisements and in photo shoots is all just smoke and mirrors.
