Beyoncé’s Trainer Shares Her Formation Tour Workout

Two solid hours of nonstop booty popping and squat dropping? We’re beat after a couple of quick tunes on the dance floor on a Friday night. But ever since hitting the road for her Formation tour, that’s what Beyoncé has been doing EVERY. SINGLE. NIGHT.

Naturally, the singer turned to her trainer, Marco Borges, to whip her into shape, and now he has spilled the beans to Glamour U.K. about his workout to get Queen Bey tour-ready.

Just do his routine three times a week for six weeks and you’ll get Bey’s banging body. Easy, right?

Push yourself

Yep, they’re quick and simple, so up the ante by doing your normal push-ups but making them more explosive by pushing off your hands when you come up to “pop” a few inches off the ground. Try four sets of eight reps.

Run the world

Hotfooting it all over the stage in heels ain’t easy, so Marco introduced Bey to interval training. That meant half an hour of alternating a one-minute sprint with two minutes of brisk walking.

Get strong

Marco had Bey working the kettlebell squat-and-press like nobody’s business to hit all her major muscles, with four sets of 15 reps. Then it was single-leg step-ups (step up on a chair, bring one knee to your chest, and return to start position), with four sets of 15 reps for one leg before switching to the other.

Then it’s just an easy stretch and a recovery smoothie — Bey’s fave is protein powder, almond milk, frozen fruit, and spinach — and you’re done!
