Recreate Victoria Beckham's Soft Waves

Though her circa 2006 “Pob” cut is one that goes down in hair history as the style that launched a thousand snips,Victoria Beckham’s longer layers are definitely another of our favorite looks—second to literally anything she worked in her Spice Girls days, of course. Last night at the London Evening Standard Theatre Awards, Beckham demonstrated the (girl) power of the retro wave, adding a subtle bend to ends and keeping the rest of her hair smooth. Want to try your hand at her ultra-posh style? Make like the star’s hairstylist Ken Paves and begin with clean, damp strands. Before blow-drying, Paves spritzed his You Are Beautiful Volumizing Spray ($14;walmart.com from Dec. 17) onto Beckham’s hair, then formed a deep side-part.

Once her hair was completely dry, he picked up a medium-barrel curling iron to create the soft texture. Make sure to concentrate the wand along your mid-lengths and ends, avoiding the crown area, to keep the look sleek and modern. A few drops of the You Are Beautiful Repair & Nourish Serum ($14; walmart.com from Dec. 17) worked over the style added a healthy shine, and to finish, Paves misted on a veil of his You Are Beautiful Flexible Hair Spray ($15; walmart.com from Dec. 17) to keep the look in place. Though no zig-a-zig-ahhs are required to master this style, we figure it certainly couldn’t hurt—that is, if we could ever figure out what the term means.
