Have you heard of glitter-strobing, the trend of applying glitter to your face the way you would use highlighter? Apparently actress Bella Thorne has, and she’s taking it to a whole other level.

In a Twitter post on Tuesday, 19-year-old Thorne posted a pic of herself with glitter on the tip of her nose and down her entire chest, and the next day on Snapchat, she posted a series of shots and videos of herself with even more of the sparkly stuff spread across her cheekbones, eyelids, and collarbone. In one video, she’s walking on the beach in the Bahamas in a black, strappy bikini. “Glitter girl,” the teen captioned one shot. And she captioned her Instagram pic, “In love with da glit glit.”

The girl can’t seem to get enough of being glittery, and silver appears to be her color of choice. In November, though, Thorne wore silver glitter in her hair instead of on her skin to the American Music Awards (though for her actual hair color, she opted for red and neon green). And in October, Thorne debuted glitter, this time pink, on her brows — entire glitter brows. And we have to admit, they looked good.

The Internet has had mixed reactions to Thorne’s glitter obsession, though. One Twitter user wrote, “Bella thorne covered in glitter n playing w baby pigs in the ocean half naked is the level of freedom i aspire too [sic],” while another loved how “cute” the look was. But others were baffled. “Someone explain to me the point of throwing glitter on your body when you are at the beach. I need to have a talk with Bella Thorne,” one person tweeted. Another wrote, “why does @bellathorne put glitter on her nose? i need to know.”

But Thorne may not be the first celeb to bring body glitter back. A year ago, that was actually attributed to Gigi Hadid, who also takes a shine to the product but in a much more subtle way. And, of course, who can forget those dramatic shots Beyoncé posted to her website prior to her performance at the 2014 VMAs.

So where exactly is body glitter coming back from? The ’90s, like just about every trend these days! Bustle published an ode to the sparkly cosmetic back in May, and gave shout-outs to glitter OGs such as Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears: “Back in the mid to late ’90s, we used to see celebrities like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera looking like dazzling beacons of light covered in body glitter from head to toe. But since then, the appreciation for sparkling skin has just simply deteriorated.”

But everything old is new again. Could body glitter be the new choker? Something tells us this trend has a bright future.
