Ariel Winter's Bangs Are Fake So Don't Freak Out

While Ariel Winter is known for her revealing ways, she actually covered up a part of her body on Sunday night at the 22^nd Annual Critics’ Choice Awards: her forehead.

The Modern Family actress was almost unrecognizable without her usual middle or deep side part; instead she debuted brand new bangs that were wispy in the middle and heavy on the sides. The downward slope of the bangs and top knot holding up the rest of her mane created a style that looked a lot like Tinkerbell’s, just brunette.

Known for her gorgeous curves and smoldering style, Winter looked even more dramatic with the heavy haircut. The face-framing bangs highlighted the natural round shape of her face.

Don’t get too comfortable with the new ‘do, however; hairstylist Jonathan Colombini is responsible for the fresh look, and he confirmed to Yahoo Beauty that the bangs were clip-ins. “My inspiration for the bangs was based on her dress and make up, which were 60s mod,” he said. “The messy top knot was to insure a youthful modern vibe,” he says.

The 18-year-old has worn clip-ins before so we had a feeling these bangs weren’t here to stay. But this isn’t the first time she’s played around with bangs, so maybe she’s seriously considering the change. However, she’s also not one to stick to a hairstyle for too long. She told Teen Vogue that changing the color of her hair makes her “feel like a new person every time.”

Just the other day she donned a blonde wig with bangs and wore a sexy Santa costume. She posted a picture of the look on Instagram with the caption, “Santa baby…”

At the awards show, Winter paired her new ‘do with a custom Uel Camilo gown. The floor-length black figure-hugging dress featured bejeweled embellishments and side/back cutouts.
