It started with Gucci, where some models came down the runway with floral hair clips pinned over their right ears that, to me, resembled pieces of red and white coral. Then came Fendi with colored leather headbands slipped over messy French twists, followed by gorgeous jewel-encrusted barrettes at Prada just a few hours later.

But the twinkling accoutrements are only half of the look at Prada. It was actually the hairstyle itself—a redux of the look Guido created for the female models walking Prada’s men’s show a few weeks ago. “Mrs. Prada loved the hair and asked for it again,” said Guido, just this time around it was cleaner, sleeker, and of course, decorated with those amazing clips. “It’s really something you can do very easily at home,” he said of the super-high ponytail with the ends clipped neatly to the right side of the head. “It gives you the feeling of an updo, but one that’s quite young and charming.” And when it came to adding those sparkling jewels? “It just elevates and lifts the entire look.”
