Amandla Stenberg’s Blue Foil Eyeliner Is Otherworldly
Amandla Stenberg finished off New York Fashion Week sitting front row at Marc Jacobs. The 18-year-old actor and activist appeared in a metallic blue outfit with eyeliner to match.

Stenberg enlisted the help of makeup artist Kali Kennedy to create an edgy “alien” look. With a base of glowy, matte skin, Kennedy created simple but unique makeup with metallic liquid liner like Urban Decay Heavy Metal Liquid Liner in Amp or YSL Full Metal Shadow in Wet Blue, applied with an eyeliner brush for a foil-like effect.

We saw similar beauty looks on this season’s runways. At Chromat, models wore brushed eye makeup in shades of blue to signify movement, and the Prabal Gurung show was scattered with jolts of graphic color.

Last month, Stenberg (who uses the pronouns “they” and “their”) debuted a shaved head and bleached their short locks shortly thereafter. With a bit of growth, they are embracing their natural curls and adding definition to the pattern.
The look was completed with a dab of moisturizing lip balm for a subtle sheen that played into the metallic eye color.
