Amal Clooney Is Pregnant, Expecting Twins With George Clooney
The rumors are true! Amal and George Clooney are expecting twins, Us Magazine reports. On today's episode of The Talk, host Julie Chen revealed that George, 55, had confirmed in late January that he and Amal, 39, are expecting their first children. The babies are due in June, a second source confirmed to Us.
"Beyoncé is not the only superstar expecting twins," Chen said. "Congratulations are in order for George and Amal Clooney!" Watch the announcement below:
Back in January, people started speculating as to whether Amal was pregnant or not largely based on her fashion choices. You can juuust see the beginnings of a bump underneath this floral dress.
Amal and George tied the knot back in 2014 in Venice, Italy, a year after they met through a mutual friend at a charity fundraiser. Kids weren't an immediate priority for the couple. Back in 2015, when asked if he wanted to start a family with Amal, George replied, "It hasn't been high on my list. I've been asked it a lot lately because I've gotten married and I'm doing a movie [Tomorrowland] with kids in it."
Last year, when a reporter asked George at a gala in Amsterdam if Amal was pregnant, he shut down rumors fast. "No," he told the Telegraph. "But I like that you started that rumor."
As Chen pointed out, the Clooneys aren't the only couple expecting twins. Beyoncé practically broke the internet last week with her announcement that she was pregnant.
Both couples are in good company - Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, Julia Roberts and Danny Moder, Zoe Saldana and Marco Perego, Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, Celine Dion and René Angélil, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, and Elsa Pataky and Chris Hemsworth are all parents to twins, too.
George and Amal haven't yet confirmed the pregnancy themselves, and it's highly unlikely the notoriously private couple will deliver a Beyoncé-level photoshoot to do so. But one can dream, right?
