5 Girls Tried Gray Lipstick and It Looked Surprisingly Awesome
If you were to take a stroll through my makeup bag, you'd quickly learn that crazy lipstick colors are my calling. I have a rainbow of unexpected shades and I wear every color from ashy purples to bold greens. But when I found out everyone was obsessing over shades of gray I was completely thrown. For the very first time in my life I looked at a weird lip color and thought I don't think I could rock that.
So in hopes of proving myself wrong – and also the sheer amusement of torturing my co-workers with heinous lip colors – I snagged myself a matte liquid grayer than the rainiest of days: ColourPop's "Petit Four".
Five girls from the Seventeen.com team swiped it on and got to selfie-ing. Here are our feels.

"I liked that the ColourPop formula was so easy to apply - it doesn't feel too thick or too thin. The actual color wasn't my favorite, but it's just not the right shade for me. I could see this being such a fun, edgy shade for a person with cooler undertones."

"I expected this gray to look hideous on me - but I actually loved it, but it does remind me of the color of cement when applying. Dried, it has blue tones that make me want to wear this come springtime - def not winter or else I'd look like I need some quality time with a furnace. I think you could pair this color with a holographic lipgloss for a cool futuristic, Zenon-y look."

"'Petit Four' was much bluer than I expected and because of the darker hue, it actually worked for me. I think it looked pretty on my face and complimented my skin tone, instead of making me look zombie-ish. But even so, I really hate the color and would never wear it IRL. If I'm feeling a gray-ish shade I'll stick to Kylie Jenner's metallic KyMajesty."

"Any fears I had of this shade looking like ash on my lips were gone after the first swipe – it's actually not bad! The formula is really creamy and goes on evenly, and it doesn't dry out my lips, which is every girl's fear when it comes to matte liquid lipsticks. It didn't last through my lunch sadly, but at least I've got this selfie to prove how good it looks."

"I liked the gray in theory. I feel like it complimented everyone's skin tone more than I thought it would, but it was not my style at all. I would leave the gray to Kylie Jenner and stick with Mary-Jo K myself."
