29 Questions With Harper’s Bazaar’s Laura Brown

29 Questions With Harper’s Bazaar’s Laura Brown

When Harper’s Bazaar Executive Editor Laura Brown travels to her hometown in Australia, the last thing she wants to do is shop. Instead, she’d prefer be around wildlife. “The highlight of my last trip was going to the Melbourne Zoo and seeing quokkas!” she explains, showing us images of her being approached by the furry creatures (which look like cat-size wallabies with teddy bear ears).

Her quirky, down-to-earth approach to a day off is juxtaposed with a busy work schedule of attending events in borrowed Erdem and Delpozo, or on location working on portfolios and cover shoots (the most recent, a profile on Jennifer Aniston). Her take on skincare is similar: While she uses the same facialist as Jessica Alba (Note: It’s Shani Darden), she also doesn’t take her beauty routine too seriously. “I’m a good washing-face-before-bed person, and I try to do the serums like Is Clinical but fail most of the time.” When it comes to lipsticks, she’s always armed with two, depending on the mood she’s in: “I’m usually doing the neutral and the red, that’s how it works, that’s life. I’m a Gemini.”

But it’s her self-deprecating and extremely humorous demeanor to life that makes her loved by all. We asked her 29 questions that required fun and punchy answers. Below, everything from Brown’s pre-party jam to her proudest moment.
