Why just get away … when you can get away and also have a full suite of active wellness options at your disposal? Think: picturesque hikes, relaxing spa treatments, and beach-side yoga sessions — and then when you’re all tuckered out after a day spent rejuvenating, you can simply retire to a luxurious hotel room with all the amenities.

1. Tenaya Lodge

If visiting Yosemite National Park is on your bucket list, why not do it while relaxing? Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite’s Ascent Spa offers a suite of offerings, from facials to full spa packages, and treatments are all infused with locally sourced ingredients. Spa packages that include overnight accommodations start at $228.

2. Sundara Inn & Spa

The 26-suite Sundara Inn & Spa in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, has a “silent sports” focus. Try swimming in the outdoor infinity pool, practicing some yoga, cross-country skiing, or snow shoeing – or get your relaxation on by taking advantage of a spa menu with treatments that range from traditional to Ayurvedic-inspired. You can even take a hike on the Meditation Trail — which has seven stops, corresponding to the seven chakras — with a Hammock Retreat in the woods. Suite rates at Sundara start at $199 for two, and include unlimited access to all the inn’s amenities.

3. Red Mountain Resort

Red Mountain Resort is located in southwestern Utah’s red rock bluffs, and offers an array of fitness classes, outdoor adventures, and wellness programs. Try some yoga overlooking the canyons, an outdoor digital photography class, or a hiking trip through Zion National Park. You can also take advantage of one of the daily guided morning hikes (for all skill levels!), take a walk with shelter puppies, do some paddle board yoga, or go mountain biking. Red Mountain Resort also has the Sagestone Spa & Salon, where you can get pampered with spa treatments that incorporate local desert botanicals. Try booking the $225-per-person Red Mountain Essential Retreat, offered year-round.

4. Canyon Ranch

There are a number of Canyon Ranch properties you can stay at, including resorts in Tucson, Arizona, and Lenox, Massachusetts, and an upcoming resort in Kaplankaya, Turkey. Taking a look at the Tucson property in particular: It boasts an 80,000-square-feet spa complex with six gyms, a yoga and meditation dome, saunas, and more. You can also sign up for private consultations or workshops on weight loss and smoking cessation and classes on healthy cooking and food planning. Three-night packages start at $3,540 per person for double accommodations (including a $450 service allowance), through June 11, 2016.

5. Golden Door Spa

Located north of San Diego and south of Los Angeles, the Golden Door in San Marcos, California, puts you in close proximity to 30 miles of hiking and walking trails, mountains, and even a bamboo forest. Your time spent at Golden Door — which was named the No. 1 Destination Spa in 2015 by Travel and Leisure — is also unique to you, thanks to its personalized fitness, spa, and nutrition programs. For 2016, the rate for standard guest rooms is $8,850.

6. Miraval Resort and Spa

Miraval Resort & Spa, located among the Santa Catalina Mountains in Tucson, Arizona, just underwent a multi-million dollar renovation for its 20th anniversary, including new guestrooms, a new ranch, new mind/body wellness programming, and a revamped fitness center. Room rates start at $525.

7. Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain

Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain, located in Paradise Valley, Arizona, doesn’t just offer top-notch spa services at its Sanctuary Spa — it also offers an array of active wellness programs, including Zennis (a hybrid of yoga and tennis), swimming, hiking, and even individual training sessions with Olympic Gold Medal swimmer Misty Hyman. Triathletes will especially appreciate the Triathlon Training Program, which includes three days of training, spa treatments, gourmet meals, and expert consultations. Package rates for the Triathlon Training program package start at $1,797 based on single occupancy, and general rates at Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain start at $599 per night through February 2016.

8. Carlisle Bay

Get away to Antigua’s south coast at the five-star Carlisle Bay. The resort, which is surrounded by the rainforest and the Caribbean Sea, includes 82 suites (all with direct beach access), nine tennis courts, a 42-seat screening room, and the 17,000-square-foot Blue Spa offering a number of West Indian-inspired treatments. From now until Dec. 18, rates start at $679 per night (based on double occupancy), and include reef snorkeling, a sailing clinic, a rainforest hike, and more.

9. Grand Wailea Spa

The 780-room Grand Wailea Resort in Maui, Hawaii, boasts a 50,000 square-foot Spa Grande featuring hydrotherapy and 40 treatment rooms, as well as a 27,500-square-foot Wailea Canyon Activity Pool that has nine separate pools and seven water slides. Activities include morning yoga on the beach and a unique Hawaiian chant/ocean experience called “E Ala E.” Room rates start at $395 plus tax for 2016.

10. Homestead Resort Utah

Guests of the Homestead Resort not only experience a getaway in Midway, Utah — they can also take advantage of the resort’s unique, dome-shaped geothermal spring, called the Homestead Crater. The mineral water keeps the crater heated to a constant 90 to 96 degrees Fahrenheit, so you can take a dip, embark on a warm SCUBA diving adventure, or, if you’re less water-inclined, take a dry self-guided tour of the crater.
