If you’re trying to make serious health changes or reach a new fitness goal, Dolvett Quince, a trainer on “The Biggest Loser,” recommends one move: the plank.

“I like it because it’s a great way to stabilize your entire body,” he told Today.com. “It gives you upper body strength, lower body strength, and it strengthens your core. If that can be strong, your workouts are going to be stronger.”

His recommendation: do a plank as often as possible and in between your workouts, so if you’re doing a series of exercises at the gym or at home, do a plank for 30 seconds between each exercise.

It may be pretty difficult at first, he said, but eventually you’ll get stronger and see results. “Just don’t give up, keep doing it, and increase your time,” he said. “If you can last a minute, that means you are stronger than you were before.”
