Pakistan's Vintage Car Collection

When we think of Pakistan, we certainly don't think of classic vintage cars — especially American icons like the Corvette and Mustang. But on the streets of Islamabad, a group of wealthy Pakistanis — members of the Vintage and Classic Car Club of Pakistan — posses many vehicles just like that, from a Ford Model T to a Lincoln convertible once belonging to an Afghan king, and even a Rolls-Royce driven by India's last viceroy.

The gentlemen of the club, which now tops 10,000 members, talk about their desires to own classic cars, and while to outsiders Pakistan is perhaps better known for its militants havens and Taliban insurgents, for these rich gearheads, vintage cars are a way to forget all that's wrong with the present and reconnect with the past.
