The life of a testing mule is short and cruel.

The development process for a new car is a process of iterating, and that process requires the creation of actual testing examples pushed to the limits to ensure both quality and durability. These cars exist for the sole purpose of suffering, pushed at their limit in far more extreme conditions than the average driver would ever subject them to. This is an essential element of the process of actually building a car, but the mules are thanked for their work by being crushed.
