2015 Callaway Corvette Z06 Confirmed With 757 HP And 777 LB-FT

Back in April, legendary Corvette tuner Callaway first announced plans for an uprated version of the C7 Corvette Z06 and showed off an early prototype. The company has now confirmed the final performance target it has set for the car: a peak output of 757 horsepower and 777 pound-feet of torque.

That’s substantially more than the stock Z06’s 650 hp and 650 lb-ft, enabling the current Corvette flagship to keep up with the world’s top supercars. Around 500 lb-ft of torque is said to be generated from as low as 2,000 rpm. Initial performance estimates for Callaway’s Z06 include a 0-60 time of just 2.8 seconds and a quarter mile time of 10.5 seconds with a 131-mph trap speed. The stock figures come in at 2.95 seconds for the 0-60 run and 10.95 for the quarter mile.

Key among the modifications is a new “GenThree” supercharger which Callaway says is 32 percent larger than the stock unit fitted to the Z06. At the same time, the engineers focused on improving the cooling—since cooler inlet temperature means greater density and thus more power—by adding a unique triple-element intercooler. The supercharger housing also extends through the hood to further aid cooling.
